Tom Petty Announces New Album, North American Tour

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will release their first studio album, 'Mojo,' in eight years this spring. In support of the follow-up to 2002's 'The Last DJ,' which still doesn't yet have an official release date, the band announced an extensive North American tour summer tour that will pair the legendary group with a mix of high profile support acts like My Morning Jacket, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Joe Cocker, ZZ Top and Drive-By Truckers.

The extensive run through the States and Canada will get underway in Raleigh on May 6 and is slated to wrap on August 27 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Fans who purchase tickets for the trek, which begin to go on sale March 8, online will also receive a digital copy of the group's new album upon its release. In advance, ticket buyers will receive an e-mail with codes that will entitle them to download two new songs, 'First Flash of Freedom' and 'Good Enough.'

The latter is now available for streaming at the band's official website. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers -- now in their 34th year -- are also promising every online purchaser a selection of live tracks from the 'Mojo' tour, which will be delivered electronically at the end of the summer.
