Jon Bon Jovi Will Visit Homeless Shelters on Tour

As we all know, Bon Jovi have been a worldwide arena and stadium act for nearly 25 years. And despite a few dips here and there, they're going as strong as ever. The band has had a distinct Nashville influence in the past few years and, indeed, has made the rare crossover from metal to country and back again. In the end, it's all arena rock anyway. But what you don't know about their current tour, behind their newest release, 'The Circle,' is that lead singer Jon Bon Jovi is taking advantage of the routing to do some recon work. The one-time lion-maned teen idol has worked for six years with his charitable organization, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, to build affordable housing for those in need and to combat homelessness and hunger.
The singer spent previous Bon Jovi tours going from the venue to the hotel to the next city, day in and day out. This time around, he plans to spend some of his downtime actually visiting homeless shelters, learning about various connected issues and seeing what works.
While the band still plays their arsenal of feel-good anthems like 'Bad Medicine,' Bon Jovi tells the Associated Press that he's finally ready for the other side of being a rock star. "When you're a boy in a rock band, you want to go out and see the world and do all the great things you're supposed to do when you join a rock band," he says. But, at 47-years-old... it looks like he's feeling the Bono within. More power to him.

I have been listening to Bonjovi since the Raritan Manor on the Somerville Circle days. My 1st time to see them was Lost Highway Tour in NYC. I had a blast.I just went to Giants Stadium on May 26th and I had a even better time. So much more that I am going again in July. I just wish that the tickets weren't so expensive. I understand it costs alot to put on a show like that but us poor people cannot afford pit or floor seats. It is a shame that they couldn't come up with a way for the less fortunate to see them in concert close up.
Just wanted the band to know, I lived in jersey for 50 yrs and went to see them every tour at Giants Stadium or the Arena and even ventured to Albany and Philadelphia once. I moved in aug to fargo and fiquared I wouldn't get a chance to see them again, at least not for a while. But 2 months after I moved I found out they were going to be at the Fargodome. Needless to say I was ecstatic, and thanks to my boyfriend, we will be there. Looking forward to another great show (of course I told the people out here that they havent seen Bon Jovi until they've seen them at Giants Staduium) So tell them to play like there in Jersey and that there will be a hometown fan in the audience thats very happy they came to Fargo!!
