Lily Allen to Play Wireless Festival at Jay-Z's Request

Despite revealing at this year's Brit Awards that she would be taking an indefinite break from music-making, Lily Allen has been confirmed to play this year's Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park - at the request of Jay-Z.Allen will perform before the rapper's headlining slot on Jul. 4, with Mr Hudson also on the bill that day. Others to play the two-day festival include Pink, the Ting Tings and the Gossip.
Allen told reporters after the Brit Awards (Feb. 16) that she was quitting music for a while in order to set up her own record label, while following Wedneday night's (Feb. 24) NME Awards, where she won the Giving It Back Fan Award, she said a return to recording could happen "maybe in five years."
The announcement completes a hectic couple of weeks for the singer, who as well as the NME Award picked up her first ever Brit Award for Best Female Solo Artist. She also had the honour of a dressing down from Conservative Party leader David Cameron, who in the wake of her Brit labelled her as "unsuitable" for his six-year-old daughter -- so much so that he broke his car's iPod connector in a battle of wills with his 'Smile'-loving offspring.
