Har Mar Superstar Chooses Winner in 'Tall Boy' Remix Contest

Back in December, Har Mar Superstar offered fans a chance to remix his hit, 'Tall Boy' through a contest with music creation site Indaba. Now, a winner has been chosen by Har Mar, producer George Augusto and actress Eva Mendes, who appeared in the 'Tall Boy' video. As promised, you can download the mix, by New York City's Manny Heatherly, exclusively here.

"I wrote this narrative -- which is edited, scratched and out of sequence -- and essentially in my mix Har Mar's lyrics are hypothetical, like, if the person narrating had the guts to actually go talk to this Tall Boy, he'd be a badass and say everything Har Mar is saying, but he's got no guts, and the tall boy never even notices him," Heatherly tells Spinner.

"I was a bit shocked when I saw I won. I didn't think anyone would really understand what I was doing, why the mix opens with dialogue, why it's not 140BPM, but I'm glad they did," Heatherly adds. "Spinner is one of my bookmarks, so yes, I'm an ecstatic bitch about the mix going up on there."

So congrats, but there were some very strong, creative and well-produced remixes coming from this contest that could easily have taken top spot. I'm truly surprised Har Mar et al. took so long to pick the winner and ended up choosing this one in the end. I don't even remember listening to this remix, to be honest, it didn't really stand out above the crowd. There...I pulled a Kanye, so shoot me.

i actually thought there were a lot of bad, poorly produced mixes in this contest. true, this sound isn't for everyone...it's a little lame to be a sour loser about it though, it's a bit lame to the winner and the judges who selected this mix.
