The Fall, Laura Veirs Confirmed for Summer Sundae Festival 2010

The first batch of artists for 2010's Summer Sundae has been announced. A typically eclectic bill will see established festival favourites the Fall and the Go! Team appear alongside chart topper Tinchy Stryder and mainstream folksters Mumford and Sons.Running for three days from Aug. 13, Summer Sundae has grown steadily since its inception and now takes in six stages spread throughout Leicester's De Montfort Hall and Gardens.
Idyllic surroundings and the comparatively small scale of the event have ensured Summer Sundae's position as one of the country's more successful and highly regarded boutique festivals, a feel organisers hope to maintain as they celebrate their 10th year.
Carrying on the tradition of picking emerging talent the lineup includes Moshi Moshi signings The Wave Pictures, hotly-tipped Local Natives and folk rock combo Erland and the Carnival.
Summer Sundae veteran Laura Veirs has also been confirmed. The experimental folk singer-songwriter will return to the UK on the back of her acclaimed 'July Flame' LP, an album which marked a triumphant return to Bella Union.
Hoping to build on the success of last year's record ticket sales, co-founder Rob Challice explained to eFestivals, "It's great to go back over the old posters, and go 'oh we had them, let's see if we can have them back'."
After past criticisms over the rising inclusion of "landfill indie" Challice hopes a more organic approach will further cement Summer Sundae's place in the festival calendar.
