LCD Soundsystem Announce New Record Details

James Murphy's electro-jam act LCD Soundsystem are set to return May 18 with their as-yet-untitled third album. For this latest installment, Murphy recorded in Los Angeles and at DFA Studios in New York and worked with Dave Sardy (Nine Inch Nails, Snow Patrol) on mixing duties. The nine-song set is the follow-up to LCD's critically acclaimed 'Sound of Silver,' which yielded two club oriented singles, 'All My Friends' and 'North American Scum.'This time around, intriguing song titles such as 'Drunk Girls,' 'Dance Yrself Clean' and 'Pow Pow' stand out on name alone (no word as to if 'Pow Pow' has anything to do with the Black Eyed Peas).
Because it's been a while since any new LCD jams have come to light, we know the waiting time can be tough. But good news! On March 23, the soundtrack to Noah Baumbach's latest film, 'Greenberg,' will feature a score written by Murphy as well as a new LCD song called 'Oh You (Christmas Blues).'
Known for their highly energetic, loopy live shows, LCD Soundsystem are also currently gearing up for what's looking to be a very busy 2010 on the road. Their summer will include slots at Sasquatch, Bonnaroo and the Pitchfork Festival and, as previously reported, they'll join the Disco Biscuits, Diplo, Ween and more at Camp Bisco in mid-July. We wouldn't be surprised if Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Austin City Limits also come knocking.
Here is the track list for the new LCD Soundsystem album:
1. 'Dance Yrself Clean'
2. 'Drunk Girls'
3. 'One Touch'
4. 'All I Want'
5. 'Change'
6. 'Hit'
7. 'Pow Pow'
8. 'Somebody's Calling Me'
9. 'What You Need'
