Lucero Drummer Suffers Broken Jaw in Mugging Incident

LuceroNot every punk band robbery can go as smoothly as it did for NOFX's Fat Mike, as Lucero drummer Roy Berry suffered a broken jaw after being mugged last week following a gig in Augusta, Ga. According to Punknews.org, Berry -- who has since had his jaw wired shut -- was with the band's guitarist, Brian Venable, who wasn't injured in the robbery.

The band, which is currently supporting its most recent album, '1372 Overton Park,' has been forced to cancel and reschedule this weekend's shows in Jackson, Miss., and Huntsville, Ala. The Memphis sextet reports that Roy will recover. There's no word yet if additional dates on Lucero's ongoing tour, which includes gigs next weekend in Chattanooga and Nashville, will be cancelled.

The band's trek is currently slated to wrap in Houston, Texas on April 17, following a performance the day prior at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. Lucero is also slated to play at Bonnaroo the weekend of June 11-13.

What kind of morons are on here? The highest rating goes to the question about whether they were black or mexican. The lowest goes to the very next comment, critical of the bigotry. What a bunch of fools here.
Adios, bros !

I think you guys may need to do your research. Just go to the FBI website and look at the criminal stats by race. I'm sorry to tell you that whites are arrested millions of times more than any other race for crimes. The stats really aren't hard to find. Most people just don't want to find because they would rather place blame on minorities.

The race of the suspects doesn't have to be in the story for intelligent people to know who did it, Einstein. Obviously you've never been to Atlanta flea brain. When a young girl comes up missing nobody suspects a black person of doing it because 99 times out of 100, they didn't. On the other hand, when someone is mugged and beaten in a city with a large black population, 99 times out of 100, a black person did do it. Dig a little deeper and you will find that all of the suspects are indeed black. A**hole.

Did your mother teach you that language, Lita? And thanks for pointing out a crime committed two months ago by a white guy. You must have been ready to burst, keeping that inside for two months, just waiting for the chance to use that as an example. Do you take it so personally because some, or many of your relatives are serving time in prison? I thought so! Bravo to you!

Gee this is about the drummer getting his jaw broke. Its all about a comment from Sharon about what race the muggers were.....What's even more rediculous is that everyone is saying something to Tom about his comment and I agree with him. That was a stupid question "What color were the muggers?"

OH wow Does that really matter Sharon what race the muggers were? I know what color they were ......PURPLE!!

Tom, get a clue! Until you identify the problem, you cannot fix the problem. If you continute living in a state of denial, how will you ever be able to address the issue of why there is an overproportionate number of minorities who commit most of the violent crime here in the US. Oh...and let's not hear the ol' "white people commit crime too" line. No kidding! The issue here is why "minorities" commit a majority of the crime...and by far. As long as we have apologists like Tom, so quick to throw the "racicst" moniker on anyone who says anything negative about someone else, we will ALWAYS have this problem with crime. Tom, wake up and smell the reality.

How about sticking with the facts--that the race of the offenders was not in the story, a** hole? You and Sharon would sire pointy-headed babies with no brains. Oh, and who does all the evidence point to at the latest killing of a young woman (San Diego)? Oh, it's a white guy. I'm sure you and Sharon must think that a black guy must have made him do it.
