Ozzy Osbourne to Attend John Lennon Birthday Celebration

Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon are among the stars set to join in a celebration of what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday this Oct. 9 in Lennon's hometown of Liverpool.

In an interview with Liverpool radio station Radio City, Sharon Osbourne told DJ Pete Price that she will be traveling with Ozzy to Liverpool in October for a tribute to the Beatle, who was shot in New York City on Dec. 8, 1980.

The former Black Sabbath frontman has apparently accepted an invitation to the celebration from Liverpool's Lord Mayor, Councillor Mike Storey, reports WENN.

DJ Price told the Liverpool Echo, "Ozzy is a huge John Lennon fan. I imagine he will want to see all the sights and maybe stay in the John Lennon suite at the Hard Days Night Hotel. Can you imagine everyone seeing Ozzy walking down Mathew Street -- they would think he was a lookalike."
