Canadian indie heroes Arcade Fire are set to bring their multi-membered, string-laden, art rock roadshow to the Emerald Isle this summer. The Win Butler-led sevenpiece have been confirmed on the bill for Ireland's Oxegen Festival, which takes place at the Punchestown Racecourse near Dublin from Jul. 8 to 11.No word yet as to whether the band will have a new album to promote by the time they hit the country. The third Arcade Fire studio disc -- and follow up to 2007's 'Neon Bible' -- is reportedly due out at some point during the second half of 2010. Further festival slots are also rumoured.
Fatboy Slim has also been unveiled as an Oxegen participant, while previously announced acts lined-up for the Irish weekender include Arcade Fire compatriots Broken Social Scene, Muse, Vampire Weekend, Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, Wolfmother, Mumford and Sons, Gossip, Ellie Goulding, Hot Chip, La Roux, Goldfrapp, Prodigy, Eminem and Jay-Z.
