Brooklyn-based anthemic indie-rockers the National have unveiled plans for their upcoming fifth studio album. The new disc will be titled 'High Violet' and will be released on May 10 in the UK (and a day later in the US).'High Violet' will be the National's first release on the 4AD imprint, after 4AD parent label, and previous band home, Beggars Banquet ceased to release new albums in 2008. The National join groups like TV on the Radio, Bon Iver and Camera Obscura on the London-based indie.
The National will support 'High Violet' with a previously announced touring schedule that includes a series of spring shows in the US, a handful of European gigs and various summer outdoor dates detailed here.
No further information or track details have been released for 'High Violet'. The album will follow-up the five-piece's 2007 breakthrough 'Boxer'.
