The Divine Comedy have announced that their new album, their 10th no less, will be released on May. 31. The album, titled 'Bang Goes The Knighthood', is Neil Hannon's first project after last year's 'The Duckworth Lewis Method' project and the first Divine Comedy LP since 2006's 'Victory For The Comic Muse'.'Bang Goes The Knighthood' is, as ever, written and produced by Hannon and was recorded in London and Dublin throughout 2009. It is also being released on Hannon's own Divine Comedy Records. The cover depicts Hannon enjoying a bubble bath wearing a top hat and smoking a pipe, with a black dog for company, as befitting one of the UK's most idiosyncratically-original talents.
The tracklisting for the first Divine Comedy album in four years is:
'Down in the Street Below'
'The Complete Banker'
'Neapolitan Girl'
'Bang Goes the Knighthood'
'At the Indie DIsco'
'Have You Ever Been in Love'
'Assume the Perpendicular'
'The Lost Art of Conversation'
'Island Life'
'When a Man Cries'
'Can You Stand Upon One Leg'
'I Like'
