Muse Set to Rock SXSW

Muse will be touching down in Austin, Texas next week for a rare club show on Saturday, March 20 as part of SXSW. The Matt Bellamy-fronted trio will continue to promote its latest album, 'The Resistance,' with a performance at Stubb's alongside Canadian favorites Metric, according to Billboard.

Currently blowing up on the radio, Muse has two songs, 'Resistance' and 'Uprising in the Top Three of both the Mediabase and BDS Alternative Rock charts this week. It's been an active year for the band, which is in the midst of a successful tour of larger venues. The group, which also includes bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dom Howard, played to a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 5.

As for rumored SXSW appearances, the Billboard report suggests pop favorites Black Eyed Peas and rap virtuoso Ludacris could show up sometime next weekend at the Levi's/Fader Fort. As for confirmed acts, Band of Horses, the recently-revived Hole and local faves Spoon are among those definitely appearing in Austin during the event's March 17-21 run.
