Producer Jonathan Dagen likes to create things -- namely, music. Using the alias J. Viewz, he collaborates with a number of different vocalists that put words to his sounds, creating tiny little worlds for each of his songs. For this track, 'Come Back Down,' he employed the vocal talents of Joshua James, but he also brought in director -- and puppet designer -- Alisa Stern to give this little world of his an image that we, as listeners and viewers, get to peer into for a lucky four minutes."I was lucky enough to find the right people who could translate the undefined emotion of the song, visually," Dagen tells Spinner. "This song has something really sad and yet optimistic at the same time; something that makes you go 'aww.' And when I first saw the clay world that Alisa and her crew created, I felt the same kind of 'aww'-ness. It felt right."
Indeed, the video plunges the viewer into a journey to a make-believe land that seems lit by a bittersweet sun. We would say the adventure comes with no strings attached but, as you'll see, that's just not true. However, we'll agree with Dagen -- it simply feels right. Check out the video below.
