Describe the sound of your music in your own words.
I call my sound Art & Beat. It's the meeting point where art meets music. A form of visual music where I use imagery to bring my songs to life.
When did you decide to start making music?
I've been singing and writing music for as long as I can remember.
What music were you inspired by growing up?
I have been inspired by all the eras that have surfaced in music. I have never listened to just one genre. I was influenced by everything from R&B, gospel, hip-hop, soul, dance music -- all of it.
Who are some of your favorite musicians today?
Kanye West, Portishead and Sade, but there are so many more.
Your personality seems eclectic and colorful. What other ways would you describe yourself?
I love all things fast-forward and futuristic. I want to be a catalyst for a new way of combining music, art and people. I am a big advocate of progressing the cultural landscape through fashion, art, music, design and books. Most of all, there is nothing more that makes me happier than to see people living out their dreams.
The world would be a better place if...?
People stopped littering!
What is the best part of performing?
It starts with the adrenalin rush from sharing the same space with the audience. It's indescribable what it feels to be on the same frequency with a giant crowd.
What has been the highlight of your career?
I am blessed and grateful to have been able to tour around the world with Kanye West for five years.I grew so much as an artist during that time.Since touring, I've been signed to My Block Inc. and have a new album coming out entitled JoiStaRR land.
