Austin group Stone River Boys are a new band led by Mike Barfield and Dave Gonzalez, the former having played with the Hollisters while the latter being a member of the Hacienda Brothers. Other members include Dave Biller on steel guitar, bassist Scott Esbeck and a rotating drumming slot filled by Justin Jones, Damien Llanes or Tom Lewis.
The band -- who cite Steve Cropper, James Brown and Johnny Paycheck as influences -- was recently signed to Boston area label Cow Island Music and will be releasing its new album 'Love On The Dial' sometime in May.
