Never Shout Never is the band name for pop musician Cristofer Ingle. At only nineteen, Never Shout Never has already played sets on MTV and has been listed as one of 100 Bands You Need to Know by Alternative Press. Never Shout Never just "started recordin' some home demos and put them on the Internet," and now Ingle will be playing SXSW, the Alternative Press Tour through May and Warped Tour this summer. Spinner caught up with Ingle before he heads to Austin for SXSW.How did your band form?
Well, I started recordin' some home demos and put them on the Internet. we slowly started getting some hype, and I put a band of my best friends together and we hit the road.
What are your musical influences?
Peace, love, happiness, joy, faith and hope.
How did you come up with your band name?
I just wanted to come up with somethin' corny and positive.
What's your biggest vice?
For a while, cigs were ... I'm trying to quit, though. At this point it is probably just scrumptious tea.
What's in your festival survival kit?
A gallon of water and good friend.
What's your musical guilty pleasure?
Lady Gaga. Heck, yeah.
Beatles or Stones?
Beatles all the way!
What's the craziest thing you've seen or experienced while on tour?
A police beatdown in Philly.
Explain some of your MySpace success early on to get the band launched.
Well, I just posted song after song to keep a constant flow -- lots of blog, pics and videos. It's all about the flow.
Why did you decide to operate under a band name instead of using your own name?
Well, I feel like my name is kinda bland.
It seems like you're keeping grounded by having your band mates form Eat Me While I'm Hot as your band? How is that working out for you?
It's so freaking fun. We are just best friends, enjoying the experience together!
You have such earnest convictions at nineteen. Where does this conviction come from?
I was raised in a very spiritual and religious household. My mother's love really grew me into a tender-heart. Me and my family have gone through a lot these past couple years, but it has only helped us grow as people.
How does it feel to be listed as one of the 100 Bands People Need to Know by Alternative Press?
It is a complete honor. I have been reading AP since I was a runt. So pumped.
