Paramore Announce Headlining Slot on Honda Civic Tour

It's not easy being green on tour, unless of course you're a member of Paramore. The announcement came last week that the Grammy-nominated punk-pop band will headline the eco-friendly 2010 Honda Civic Tour this summer, alongside Tegan and Sara and other acts yet to be announced. "It's a big deal to have our name at the top of that bill," Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams said in a release. "Not only does Honda bring great bands and their fans together every year to rock, but they're really carrying the banner and helping to make concerts environmentally friendly."
The folks at Honda Civic are amping up their already eco-friendly efforts this year by partnering with Reverb, a non-profit dedicated to "greening" concert tours and environmental awareness-raising. Additionally, a portion of every ticket purchase will be donated to an "eco-fund designated for sustainability efforts," according to the release.
The Honda Civic Tour kicks off July 23 in Raleigh, N.C., and hits 32 North American cities. Paramore continue to promote their Sept. 2009 release, 'Brand New Eyes,' while Tegan and Sara, who kick off a national tour next week and will be playing two dates on this summer's Lilith Fair tour, have their own album to hawk, Oct. 2009's 'Sainthood.'
Pre-sale tickets for the Honda Civic Tour go on sale March 23 via the tour's official Web site, while general pre-sale starts March 27.
