Motorhead Announce 35th Anniversary UK Tour
- Posted on Mar 18th 2010 11:30AM by Chris Cope
Everyone's favourite whiskey-swigging, wart-faced rock 'n' rollers Motorhead have announced a plethora of UK dates in commemoration of their 35th anniversary.Lemmy and his merry men will be bringing their infamously loud volume levels to venues across the country in November as part of their familiar end of the year trip around England, Scotland and Wales.
The three week jaunt begins up north in Aberdeen on Nov. 8 before closing down at the other end of the country in Brighton on Nov 28.
And it's all in misty-eyed celebration of their formation in 1975, after frontman Lemmy left prog-rockers Hawkwind.

I have seen the Stones and The Who. KISS blows them away. Paul Stanley was in the Canadian version of Phantom of the Opera and has a voice that blows away all but possibly Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden.
As for the Gold Records, look it up dummy. I just happened to have seen that on Nightline two months ago. After their last album Sonic Boom went gold, they tied the Beatles worldwide, but have owned the record for an American artist since their 23 Gold.
I am right and you are an idiot.
LEMMY RULES!!!!! I've been in a Motorhead tribute band for nearly 20 years (I'm the Lemmy guy)and we play with every genre of bands from punk to classic rock to extreme death metal and Motorhead music fits with all of them. GREATEST ROCK BAND STILL ALIVE!!!! Quote: "We were the first and we just might be the last" "We are Motorhead"

March 19 2010 at 7:38 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJ- if you're looking for hits, then stick with the pop radio and it's mindless dribble
D- obviously you never saw Zep, stones, Who, Faces, Allmans, and many more in thier prime. Kiss was all flash and no jam.And you better check your facts about gold records before you make such assinine statements.
Motorhead deserves the hall of fame, as noted only one really known hit (ace of spades) but most bands in the metal genre will cite motorhead as an infuence. These guys do in fact ROCK!!!!

KISS makes so much money on merchandising, and have made far above anyone in concert sales they won't get in. I've seen Motorhead live and and they are great. I have seen just about every band live since the late '70s and KISS live blows them away. As Dick Clark said, "They could split the atom on stage and it wouldn't mean anything. You can have smoke bombs and all the make-up you want, but if the music wasn't great, people wouldn't keep coming back."
More gold records than any US artist ever, and tied worldwide at 26 gold albums with the Beatles. Yet they have figured out how to make extra money. So HOF won't consider them, even though they are the only band ever to release an album they did not sing one song on. It was all the artists who had recorded their music.
R&R HOF is a sham. KISS, Nugent & Motorhead all deserve to be in there.
Damn right they should be in the Hall Of Fame, as should URIAH HEEP And Y&T. They were heavy before anybody else. lee Kerslake on drums. Mick Box shredding guitar. and Ken Hensley on the Hammond organ just blows anybody away. David Byrons vocals were the best ever.

March 18 2010 at 9:40 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFrom the top of my head, their huge hits are "Ace of Spades", "Stay Clean", "Bomber", "Stone Dead Forever", and "Overkill." They are also known for performing the theme song for WWE superstar Triple H.
March 18 2010 at 11:09 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMotorhead is the ORIGINAL Metal band. All the others were either inspired by them, or just plain ripped off elements of what they've done.
