Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt Bring Costumed Craziness to SXSW

No, that's not an 'Avatar' band -- it's one of several intentionally unhinged members of Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt. At one of eight shows scheduled in five days, the group arranged outlandish decor onstage, gave costumes to the crowd and everyone went crazy together. A camera phone could barely capture the frenetic antics onstage before most of the New York-based group charged into the crowd to launch a costumed dance party. The band has solid musical skills, but it still registers high on the wacky meter, even for Austin, a city whose slogan is "Keep Austin Weird."
Though some bands feel lucky to place only once, six shows is a fairly typical schedule for many of the better acts playing SXSW, and Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt certainly qualify as that.
