GZA Puts on Short, Entertaining Show at SXSW
- Posted on Mar 19th 2010 1:00PM by Mike Ayers
At about the 20-minute mark past when Wu-Tang Clan's GZA was supposed to take the stage for his official SXSW showcase, fans started to become irritable, restless and wondering aloud if those rumors he was a no-show the night before were coming true at this point. But soon after, GZA finally took to the stage with Killah Priest, where they sort of just stood in place, rapped and tried to keep their eyes open. Seriously, it looked like GZA was struggling with something -- being animated -- but that didn't detract from the crowd shouting "Wu" and "Forever" at any given opportunity. Because they went on so late, they didn't have much time to work with, but GZA and Killah did run through Ol' Dirty Bastard's 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya' as well as GZA tunes such as 'I Gotcha Back' and 'Crash Your Crew,' the latter of which was ended abruptly because they had to "peace."
Still, it wasn't like the audience was let down. Girls were pulled onstage for dancing purposes, GZA snapped photos with an audience member's Mr. T doll and, thanks to the help of an onstage handler, no one fell over or passed out. All of this made for a very entertaining 20 minutes.
GZA is currently prepping his seventh studio album which is supposedly scheduled for release sometime later this year.

reintroduction of the dunk proved to be extremely successful and
production numbers have since increased to meet growing demand.

These shoes mimic the colorways and limited quantities of that of Nike Dunk Sb's, which increases their value and appeal.
