Kristen Stewart Stressed Over Portraying the Runaways Accurately

'Twilight' fans may see actress Kristen Stewart as their Bella Swan, but will Joan Jett disciples believe her portrayal of the legendary rocker? Staring as Jett in 'The Runaways,' the biopic chronicling the brief career of the '70s all-girl rock band, was something Stewart felt she couldn't mess up. "If we didn't tell the story right, this is the version of the Runaways that people my age would know about," Stewart told Spinner at a recent press event. "That thought, before the movie was over, it drove me crazy."
With a limited budget and short filming period, Stewart admitted the shoot was "a mad scramble." However, she cared about the project so much that she hoped that she did the Runaways' story justice -- otherwise, she'd feel really guilty. "This is a different experience because usually if a movie's not good and it doesn't turn out the way you thought, then it's like that's the way it goes," Stewart said. "But this, we didn't have any other option. The guilt I would have harbored for the rest of my life, it would turn my stomach black."
Luckily for Stewart and co-star Dakota Fanning, who plays singer Cherie Currie, both Jett and Currie were on the set to help the actresses out with anything they needed. "They filled us in about little stuff," Stewart said. "It was good that they were around because they needed to be there to fill in the blanks."
Seeing Currie and Jett together helped the two young actresses understand the friendship that the ex-Runaways had. "We got to see them interact now," Stewart said. "Seeing them together was really helpful because they turn into the same people back when they hung out all the time. And they really, really love each other. It's hard to describe; they're just really close."
One thing causing a buzz is the kiss Stewart and Fanning share during a scene in the film, which Stewart just laughs off, explaining that Jett and Currie's friendship was different from other relationships. "It's such a unique friendship, and they rely on each other so strongly," Stewart said. "You add a kiss to something, and suddenly it makes it, 'Oh My God, they love each other, and they are lesbians.' It's like, 'No, what?'"
'The Runaways' is out now in limited release and will open nationwide on April 9.

Can you believe people pay to see this selfish brat! Making a movie costs lots of money and provides jobs for many people. If it fails it effects their future. How can you say oh I was bad but oh well!! She's had to say that many times because her acting always sucks and unless you have someone major to pick up the slack Kristen ruins the movie. Except for Twi because anyone could of played the parts and these young girls would of still flooded the theaters. Twi is successful despsite her not because of her.
