Mayer Hawthorne Performs Live on the Interface

"I do my best work at four AM," DJ/producer-turned-smooth crooning soul man Mayer Hawthorne told Spinner when he visited our L.A. studios for a late-night performance on the Interface. Hawthorne's soulful grooves, which have earned him accolades from the likes of Justin Timberlake, John Mayer (who called Hawthorne's 'A Strange Arrangement' last year's best album) and Snoop Dogg, are made for after-hours, so we believed him even before he took the Interface stage. But with his performance, he proved that just like J.J. Cale, he's definitely an after-midnight kind of guy.Backed by a stellar band, Hawthorne delivered a stellar performance, rocking four tracks, including 'Make Her Mine' and 'Your Easy Lovin' Ain't Pleasin' Nothin',' in a romantic setting, thanks to some perfect mood lighting.
