Computer Jesus Refrigerator: Just More Visual Noise at SXSW?
- Posted on Mar 23rd 2010 8:00AM by Dean Carrell
During SXSW week in Austin, even Computer Jesus Refrigerator drew some stares as the band sauntered toward the frenetic intersection of Red River and 6th streets, hours early for their show. (Especially during SXSW, the intersection is arguably the epicenter of action that makes it easy for Austin to maintain its unofficial slogan of "Keep Austin Weird.")Computer Jesus Refrigerator, not surprisingly, is a noise band. After all, how well could they see to play while wearing those masks? (Or maybe, like Jack Nicholson told Michael Keaton during the filming of 'Batman,' "Just let the costume do the performing.")
The San-Antonio-based band played at least a couple of times, including the always popular Awthumfetht, billed as an "annual experimentaloidic music/performing/art showcase" packed with bands.
