Two years on from winning the Best Composer Awards at the Critics Choice Awards in the US and the Best Film Score gong at the Evening Standard Awards for his work on the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning movie 'There Will Be Blood,' Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood's latest score, 'Doghouse', has been debuted by the BBC Concert Orchestra at London's renowned Maida Vale studios. As reported on Spinner, the instrumental will form the basis for the score of a film adaptation of Huruki Murakami's novel, 'Norwegian Wood.'
Though the performance took place last month, the piece is available for streaming on the BBC Radio 3 website for a limited amount of time.
Speaking to presenter Sara Mohr-Pietsch, Greenwood -- the Orchestra's Composer in Association -- explained the reasoning behind the 'Doghouse' title.
"A lot of music is quitter symmetrical," he said. "I was once told when I was a kid that the way to remember where D was on a piano is that it's a dog living in a house."
'Norwegian Wood' is set for Japanese release on December 2010.
