Tegan and Sara Releasing 'Alligator' Remix LP

Those Tegan and Sara fans who are champing at the bit for a new album, today's your lucky day -- sort of. The Canadian pop duo have announced plans for a new digital LP, set to hit online retailers on March 30 -- but it's not necessarily "new" material, but instead a collection of remixes of their latest single. 'Alligator.' Passion Pit, Four Tet, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, Ra Ra Riot and Holy F--- are just a few of the contributors to the 17 total remixes on what's officially being dubbed 'The Alligator LP.' A vinyl version is set for a later, unknown release date. The jangly pop of 'Alligator' comes from Tegan and Sara's 2009 release, 'Sainthood' -- and like most of the record, the song clocks in under three minutes, but this one stands out as being most "remixable." While we can probably expect the likes of Four Tet and Sitek to put a warped, washed-over feel to it, the last five tracks are being billed as "club tracks." So, yes, that means Tegan and Sara dance parties could be coming to a club near you soon.
The duo is currently wrapping up a headlining theater tour and will take a few months off before teaming up with Paramore this summer for an amphitheater run, starting July 23 in Raleigh, N.C. If you're not familiar with 'Alligator,' check out the video here.
