With spring firmly in the air, it's with an incredible sense of timing that the headliners of this year's series of open air concerts in the truly breathtaking environs of London's Somerset House have been announced -- and this year the accent is very much on the capital and the music that it has to offer.Florence and the Machine, Mystery Jets, Noah and the Whale, N-Dubz and the XX will all be headlining gigs in the courtyard of the onetime home of the Admiralty, and the whole series will be topped off by a rare appearance of the highly influential collective Soul II Soul, who will be celebrating the 21st anniversary of the seminal 'Club Classics Vol. 1.'
Non-London-based headliners include the distinctly Gallic Air, Leeds lass Corinne Bailey Rae and the Antipodean tones of the Temper Trap, as well two further headline acts -- who may or may not be from London -- to be revealed soon.
The Somerset House Summer Series will be entering their eighth year this summer and previous headliners have included Super Furry Animals, Grace Jones, Robert Plant, Goldfrapp and Sigur Ros. This year's schedule is:
Mystery Jets (July 8)
Air (July 9)
Noah and the Whale (July 10)
N-Dubz (July 11)
The Temper Trap (July 12)
The XX (July 13)
Florence and the Machine (July 15)
Corrine Bailey Rae (July 16)
Soul II Soul (July 18)
Tickets, priced £20-£27.50 ($29-$41) go on sale at 9am GMT on Friday, March 26.
