With such names as Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Daniel Merriweather under his production belt, Mark Ronson is offering his studio services for one lucky bidder, with the money benefiting Haiti relief organization Artists for Peace and Justice. The auction closes Monday and is already up to $6,500 -- not a bad chunk of change for a day's work.Ronson is the latest artist to offer up his services via Charity Buzz, an organization that procures unique fan experiences with artists, or in this case, up-and-coming musicians. Other recent auctions include the chance to chill with Slash on the upcoming video shoot for 'By the Sword,' dine with Quincy Jones and get backstage passes to Coachella.
For those unfamiliar with Ronson's charity, the initiative works to fund schools, medical treatments and food in Haiti. In fact, the organization was doing so before the recent earthquake. Ronson's most recent production work was with ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell on her forthcoming release, and he recently revealed to NME that he's collaborated with the Scissor Sisters, Santigold and Miike Snow for his forthcoming album of original material, 'Introducing the Business.' His last release under his own name was 2007's cover album 'Version,' where he put some soulful touches to the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs, Britney Spears and Ryan Adams.
