Liam Gallagher Disses the Strokes and Keane
- Posted on Mar 30th 2010 7:00AM by James Lawrenson
Oasis' Liam Gallagher has indulged in in the latest chapter in what has become an annual feature -- insulting and belittling other bands. Speaking to live4ever in a profanity laced interview, the ex-Oasis frontman made time to talk about the Strokes, Bombay Bicycle Club and Keane.
On Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Strokes, Gallagher said: "They're alright, but they're not writing f---ing proper tunes, they're not writing classics -- anything that can stand the test of time like the Beatles or the Stones. The only people that were doing that was us and we will continue to do that in different ways but the scene in England, there isn't one man. They're all f---ing into careers man, they're all just like fast food, having one hit ... They go and have one f---ing hit and the next week they're in f---ing rehab. 'My F---ing Drug Problem', by Tom Chaplin [Keane lead singer] or something."
Gallagher added, "What do you want me to say? Do you want me to say I like Bloc Party? Do you want me to say I like ... I don't even know who the new bands are. Do you want me to say I like Fire Flies [Friendly Fires?]? Or Arcade [Fire]... or f---ing Bombay Bicycle [Club] -- they can f--- off with that name for a start!"
There is, however, one band Gallagher does appreciate. "I think Kasabian are great. There's enough s--- you know -- I say enough about bands. They are good band, a top band ... Kasabian are the best band in England at the moment. Until my new band comes out ... and that's the f---ing end of that."
In a long interview Gallagher also found time to talk about his new project he's been working on in the wake of the dissolution of Oasis in August 2009.
"[It's going to be ready] Next year. It's looking that way because we got Oasis singles, all 27 of them, coming out in June. So, we'll be recording our album then, or will have finished recording it. So, I'd like to have a single out in October, followed by two fantastic B-sides and then have Christmas off, put another single out at the end of January, maybe another one in March and then get the album out in June of next year."

Foul-mouth. Limited vocabulary. Chav. Bell-end. Jealous. Delusional. Prick. Keane have more talent in one of their pubes than this moron can ever dream of having - and the giveaway is the number of times he has a go at 'em. The cretin doth protest too much, me thinks. He happened to walk into a guitar shop before he walked into a gun/machete shop - that's the bottom line that's eating him away - and he knows it!!

I guess Liam is jealous Keane is still making music and has devoted fans all around the world. I hope Keane is not taking him seriously, let this poor man talk and curse all day.....

The stones will always be remembered and The Beatles, Pistols, Clash, but Oasis-I don't think so.

March 30 2010 at 11:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyTrouble is that the Gallaghers think Oasis are good. They should get back in a Transit out on the road and become a gigging band again. I've seen better bands in my local but I'm with Noel on his comment!
