Glasvegas Drummer Caroline McKay Quits

It may not be up there with Bill Berry leaving R.E.M. or Jimmy Chamberlin deciding that spending more time with Smashing Pumpkins wasn't for him, but Caroline McKay -- drummer with Mercury Prize-nominated rockers Glasvegas -- has quit the band while working on songs for the band's second album in Los Angeles.The remaining members of the band -- singer guitarist James Allen, guitarist Rab Allen and bassist Paul Donoghue -- are said to be shocked at her decision after she put down her drum sticks and left on Monday, March 29.
Though the precise details of her departure are unclear, it is understood that McKay's decision was entirely her own and that she hadn't been fired.
"We are really sad Caroline has decided to leave as she is one of the coolest drummers around," said James Allen. "But we respect her decision and say goodbye with all our love and luck."
A source close to the band told the Daily Record, "Caroline just wants to pursue other interests. She left. She was not pushed. I don't know if she's been unhappy for a while or whether it was a recent decision. I do know the band are all gutted to lose her as they are all very close."
Glasvegas are scheduled to record their second album this summer but at this stage it's still to early to tell whether the band plans to recruit a new drummer or use a drum machine.
McKay's drumming style reflected that of the Velvet Underground's Mo Tucker, another drummer who played standing up.

This person "BOTHPARTIESSUCK" is looking for trouble from people . Everything he/she has said has been a put down of somebody & talks of widley known bands like they were a flash in the pan. He /she is pissed off NO ONE else --- no matter what our age is, knows of these bands he/she keeps putting others down for . AND if you are American , why do you say YOU AMERICANS have bad taste in music for ? What kind of American are you ? Have you never had a TYPO Mr./Ms. perfect band promoter?

You "thing" the drugs have gotten to my brain? Was that a typo, or have the drugs gotten to YOUR brain?
I'll bet you have never even heard any of the bands I mentioned, which shows that you obviously know not of what you speak. Go back to listening to Skynard, bro.

By the way , I'd like to know HOW you would know Americans have bad taste in music, seeing that your stuff is inspired by ours. I was listening to a BBC radio station the other day & the music sounds much like what you would hear here. You should stop talking about things you don't REALLY know about. Also ,,while it's being said, OUR music IS better than what I heard on that radio station . , but I don't blame them , they were being copy cats of American music ,, even the bad stuff.I'm not a basher of anyone of color or nation,just of those who want to do that to AMERICANS.{ or others } I've seen alot of these " comments "about or of us. If you have to be abusive & insulting WHY SAY ANYTHING ?
