Ronnie Wood Gets Back to Guitar Roots With Radio Show

Ronnie Wood is probably keen to focus on his music after becoming a tabloid staple for all the wrong reasons. From Friday, April 9, he's getting his chance with the launch of a brand new weekly radio show in the UK.The hour-long 'Ronnie Wood Show' on Absolute Classic Rock will see the Rolling Stones guitarist -- also a former member of the Faces and the Jeff Beck Group -- present a selection of tracks from the canon of rock 'n' roll inspired by his career and anecdotes from his years on the road.
The programme description says Wood "may get distracted or lost in the music but every record he plays comes with a story -- a memory, a tale of mischief or inspiration."
The prerecorded show also sees the guitarist bringing his tools of the trade into the studio, so listeners are promised fingers poised with a plectrum ready to strum out bits from his hits. Wood will "twang, strum and pick riffs on his acoustic and other guitars from his expansive collection," the programme notes say. Perhaps Wood will also showcase tidbits from the solo album he is reported to be working on.
The 'Ronnie Wood Show' will run on Absolute Classic Rock on Fridays at 6PM, with repeats on Absolute FM on Saturdays at 10pm, for a year.

What is wrong with this world is thet too many people feel the need to slag off anybody who is less than perfect in every aspect of their lives based on nothing little more than newspaper reports !
To me - Ronnie Wood is and always will be a working class hero & inspiration. He toured the world for many years with arguably the greatest rock and roll band and despite being worth millions has never forgotten his humble roots. He is also a talented artist. His anecdotes & recollections I am sure will be revealing & well worth the listen.
My point is that if you met him, you would almost certainly like him - Mother Theresa he ain't but he is a diamond - flawed perhaps but a diamond just the same.

Ronnie is a diamond, an inspiration and how many people have tried as much as him to get on an even keel? His guitar playing, songwriting and his art reflect a diamond, roughcut maybe, but a diamond talent none the less.

I,m just glad he is on an obscure radio station that I have never heard of never mind listened to!! What a joke this country is - give this man a radio show - wow what a reward - check for the bottles or white powders in the recording studio!!
