Tyler wasn't the only star of the show, however. Neil Diamond also sang for the sold-out crowd, delivering a rendition of his legendary hit 'Sweet Caroline' during the middle of the game's eighth inning. The song is played over the PA system during the same point of every Boston home game.
Tyler -- who was making his first post-rehab appearance since kicking an addiction to painkillers -- and Diamond both brought the BoSox good luck. After being down 5 to 1 early in the game, the team rallied to beat their archrival Yankees 9 to 7.
After a number of troubles in 2009, Aerosmith's members have mended fences. As previously reported, the band will tour Europe and South America this summer.
