MGMT Take 'Congratulations' Across America

After spending the past couple of years winning hearts everywhere with their major label debut, 'Oracular Spectacular,' MGMT are back in the ring for round two; the aptly but humorously entitled 'Congratulations' officially drops on Tuesday, April 13. A different animal than anything they've done before, 'Congratulations' is loaded with the kind of modern day psychedelia that'll only further secure MGMT's spot at indie rock's royal table. The band hopes to take kids along with them on some of those trippy adventures when they trek across America this spring, beginning with a pair of sold-out shows at the Fillmore in San Francisco on April 12 and 13. From there MGMT return to the festival grounds of Coachella where, just two years ago, their super-hyped set had tens of thousands of new fans literally overflowing from every side of their performance tent. Not to worry -- this year, they'll be on the main stage.
MGMT will also perform at several other key U.S. festivals this season, including Bamboozle (East Rutherford, N.J.), Sasquatch (George, Wash.) and Lollapalooza (Chicago). They'll also headline some of the country's sickest venues along the way, including a two-nighter at the Crystal Ballroom (Portland, Ore.) beginning June 1, Stubb's Bar-B-Q (Austin) on June 6 and Red Rocks (Denver) on June 11. A full list of dates and ticket information is up now at the band's official website, along with a bunch of other cool stuff.

Great review - really digging the new album a lot so far. Took a couple listens but it's really grown on me. Can't wait to see these guys on tour. Also - there's a bunch of cool stuff up on the band's site, including the super-wonky video for "Flash Delirium." Definitely worth the trip... www.whoismgmt.com
