Sugar and Gold, 'Aya' -- Video Premiere

Sugar and Gold's video for 'Aya' -- the first single from their album 'Get Wet!' -- depicts the kind of kooky, gender-bending dance party that would feel right at home in a warehouse in San Francisco, Calif. As it turns out, the video was filmed in a warehouse in San Francisco. But if you think that colorful costumes and playful choreography is all there is to it, then you're not really paying attention.
"The 'Aya' video was story-boarded with tarot cards painted by Ernesto Ortiz," Sugar and Gold's Philipp Minning tells Spinner. For some reason, we're not really surprised. Minning also explains that the plot was "initially inspired by the films of Alejandro Jodorowsky and the 'Alice in Wonderland' story. The song is about transformation and living out the dark aspects of imagination as well as the light."
Check it out after the jump and watch out for that surprise ending.
