MGMT Perform for Enormous Crowd at Coachella

The first time MGMT played Coachella, in 2008, they were the newest sensations to come straight outta the blogosphere. The fans that year -- vying for a chance to be able to say they "saw them when" -- came out in such numbers that they overflowed from the tent in every direction, even further than sightlines or earshot would allow. This year, Coachella promoted the band to the Outdoor Theatre, the festival's second largest stage...but it still wasn't big enough. Looking out from the stage itself, the crowd appeared to stretch all the way to the horizon. Reports said that, in fact, it was actually packed as far back as the Mojave Tent, halfway across the festival grounds."Thanks for letting us play," said frontman Andrew Van Wyngarden, greeting a sea of people as the band opened with their new single, 'Flash Delirium.' And, sure enough, MGMT's short set did make a case for their brand new disc, 'Congratulations,' which was just released last week. "Please go buy our album," pleaded Wyngarden, making no bones about it.
Meanwhile the audience, of course, remained most enthusiastic about MGMT's "old" material from 2008's 'Oracular Spectacular,' responding to those songs as if they were hearing breakouts of classic hits. And, in a way, they were.
When Wyngarden jokingly asked, "Who's on drugs here?" a wild cheer erupted -- but it was probably because the band had started to launch into 'Fated to Pretend.' Tens of thousands sang along to its household lyrics, including the line "I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin and f--- with the stars." Simultaneously, with no pun intended, Paris Hilton watched from the sidelines. Pink, Beck and Tommy Lee were also spectators. Among, of course.... many.

Way to get the title of their freakin BIGGEST, MOST WELL-KNOWN AND MOST POPULAR SINGLE wrong Spinner. Its "Time to Pretend". Also, what the hell's up with the front page? Every time I go to the front page of the website all it shows is the very top of the top headline.
