- Posted on Apr 18th 2010 11:13AM by Joshua Ostroff
You Say Party! We Say Die! drummer Devon Clifford collapsed onstage during a Friday night concert in Vancouver and passed away early Sunday morning. He was 30 years old. After Clifford fell during the concert, lead singer Becky Ninkovic asked audience members to call 911, and soon after midnight paramedics arrived and Clifford was rushed to the emergency room. The show came at the tail end of a long North American tour and the dance-rock band, hailing from the Vancouver suburb of Abbottsford, were planning to kick off their tour of Europe on April 26.
Clifford reportedly suffered a brain hemorrhage and after having emergency neurosurgery at 3AM, he was on full life support for about a day before passing away early Sunday.
The Vancouver music community is reeling, and YSP!WSD!'s record label Paper Bag released this statement Sunday morning:
"It is with absolute sadness to report that our dear friend Devon Clifford passed away just hours ago in a Vancouver hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I request that we respect the family's privacy during this incredibly difficult time."

I know nothing about Devon but my heart goes out to him and his family. It sounds like he had an AVM. i am a AVM Survivor. An Avm is a Arteriovenous malformation which is a abnormal conection between veins and arteries, usually congenital. Symptoms include severe headaches.

"You Say Party? We Say Die!"? That's like The
Beatles singing the opposit; "You say go, but
I say Stop, Stop, Stop!".
NO, MICHELLE... YOU ARE THE SILLY ONE; EVEN SILLIER THAN YANNARO, WITH YOUR BOGUS ATTEMPT TO POLISH A TURD.
FIRSTLY, THE AUTHOR HAD ALREADY IDENTIFIED "THE BAND" AS BEING COMPRISED OF MORE THAN "ONE MEMBER"... ERGO, ANY FUTURE REFERENCE TO "THE BAND" AUTOMATICALLY DEFINES "THE BAND" AS AN OBVIOUS "PLURAL". IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO CONTINUE TO WRITE, "MEMBERS OF THE BAND". MOREOVER, YOU BOTH HAVE IGNORED THE FACT THAT THE AUTHOR ALSO USED THE PLURAL IDENTIFIER OF "THEIR", NOT, "ITS'"... IN STATING, "...WERE PLANNING TO KICK OFF "THEIR" TOUR OF EUROPE ON APRIL 26." IT IS CLEAR THAT THE AUTHOR "MEANT" HER REFERENCE TO "THE BAND" TO INCLUDE "ALL" THE MEMBERS. ARE YOU ACTUALLY THAT OBTUSE AND DEFICIENT IN FUNDAMENTAL READING COMPREHENSION SKILLS THAT YOU WOULD PREFER, OR INSIST, THE AUTHOR SUBSTITUTE THE WORD "THEY" IN PLACE OF "THE BAND" JUST TO MAKE IT ABUNDANTLY, UNMISTAKABLY, CLEAR THAT "THE BAND" CARRIES A PLURAL DESIGNATION? YOU HAVE TELEGRAPHED YOUR OWN IGNORANCE MOST PROMINANTLY. THE AUTHOR WAS CORRECT... I AM CORRECT... AND YOU ARE A DOLT, REMAINED.
May this poor kid rest in peace. I lost someone - also an accomplished musician - to a cerebral hemorrhage just about a year ago, again, much too soon. My heart goes out Devon's family, bandmates, friends and fans.
