Work on Coldplay's new album is going so well that they're struggling to whittle down their ideas. So reports a mysterious blogger on the band's official website, who writes under the pseudonym "Roadie #42". In 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy,' that number is "the answer to the ultimate question about the meaning of life". In Coldplay's world, though, the writer sheds light on the band's working methods.
Apparently, the band have so many ideas they are posting them on a wall, divided into A, B and C groups. "The A list is songs that *have* to go on the record," our confidant explains. "The B list are songs that might or might not. The C list contains things that are being left - not forgotten, but that are unlikely to be worked on immediately - they'll either find a home or they won't."
"Roadie #42" adds that for clarity's sake, frontman Chris Martin [pictured] has hidden C list ideas out of sight on a hard to reach shelf. The mystery blogger adds, "When he refers to one of these songs for consideration, he has to stand on a chair in order to get to them."
As previously reported by Spinner, Coldplay are working with producer Brian Eno again. They worked with the former Roxy Music star on their last album, 2008's 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.'
