Courtney Love Is Not Changing Her Name

Despite earlier reports, Courtney Love has no intention of changing her name. "She's not changing her name, unless it's to Courtney Love Mellencamp or Big Baby Jesus," Love's spokesperson said.

According to a recent interview with NME, Love said that she now wanted to be referred to as Courtney Michelle, her birth name. "Courtney Love is dead," she told the UK magazine. However, Love's rep told MTV.com that NME took her words "out of context."

While the Courtney Love camp strongly denies the name change, a video trailer on NME.com presents the Hole singer saying, "The name Courtney Love feels like I've outgrown it. It was really, really fun to be Courtney Love for a long time, and then it became an ass-pain."

No matter what name she decides to go by, Hole's new album, 'Nobody's Daughter,' will be released on April 27.
