Pete Doherty Enrages Fans With Babyshambles Lineup Change

Pete Doherty infuriated fans on Tuesday, April 20, when he appeared on stage at London's Charlotte Street Blues Bar with a new-look Babyshambles line-up.Doherty turned up at the Soho venue with regular Babyshambles guitarist Mick Whitnall in tow, but with a unfamiliar new drummer, who was not introduced. The conspicuous absence of bassist Drew McConnell and drummer Adam Ficek allegedly caused gig goers to walk out of the show in disgust, according to NME.com.
Those who stayed report that Doherty explained that those on stage were indeed the current members of the band, while it was also alleged the names of McConnell and Ficek were repeatedly chanted by the angry crowd.
There have been no official announcements concerning any new Babyshambles line-ups and there's no change on the band's official website. Ficek expressed bemusement about the situation on his Twitter page, writing, "Cheers for all the support all, am as confused as all??? Was looking forward to gigs/newrecordz. Headache! Perplexed! Such an odd time. Really chuffed at all your Ficekoconnellove."
As previously reported by Spinner, the latest Babyshambles twist comes weeks after the band's management moved to deny rumours of a split in the wake of Doherty's involvement in the reformed Libertines.
