"You don't even try stepping in her lane. She'll just f---ing run you over." --Katy PerryCalling Lady Gaga a "creature," the future Mrs. Russell Brand admitted to Rolling Stone that she's completely in awe of the performer.

What GaGa is doing isn't new. She's just copying what Leigh Bowery & Michael Alig & the NYC Club Kids did in the late 80's, early 90's only they didn't have lucrative recording contracts or make nearly as much money.
I don't get her music but I love what she's doing to educate young women about HIV.
This makes me worry a little bit about what other lyrics Freddy Mercury has out there! Could these words spawn even more annoying pop stars? I guess he gets the last laugh as scarcely a day goes that we don't get Gaga'd.

Honestly... I can hardly pay attention to whether or not Lady Gaga has great talent because her over the top antics are a bit distracting. I would probably like her a whole lot more if she would pull it back a bit.

The fact is, with the public the way it is today, she has no other choice but to be outrageous and outlandish in order to be seen and heard. Billy Joel would pack them in at the stadiums or any other venue because of his "pop" music. How many will turn out to hear him play his own rendition of "classical" music?

Someone who cannot sing---off key and stumbles on her words....she's supposed to be a S_I_N_G_E_R. Not a clown or circus act, althouhg Barnum called and wanted his clowns' getup back.
Amazing what lame ass marketing will do. Remember Debbie Gibson?? Well, she COULD sing---and was in tune even, but she had no GIMMICK like this freaky-flash in the pan.....
Lady Gaga can sing. She really can, but her music is trashy & mostly ghetto people are turning it into a fad. So I like the fact she uses uniqueness & all that crap but I think she has to moderate a little. People don't notice her talent more like the stuff she wears. Lady GaGa, please, MEGA please, just sing.

And Katy Perry is who? She has one novelty hit and one tepid pop hit. She should be in awe of practically anyone who can play a guitar or piano since she can't really do either. The fact that Katy is quoted so often in the press is a clear indication that the level of talent needed to obtain the label of "star" has shrunk so much that someone like Ms. Perry, who twenty years ago would have been in the same class as Milli Vanili, is even noticed by the tabloids is astonishing. Is she the spokesperson of todays generation? Where are the Cobain, Jagger, Lennon, Joe Strummer,Springsteen, Prince, Patti Smiths of this current pop generation? The popular music industry is in a pathetic state at the moment.
