Biffy Clyro to Open This Year's Ibiza Rocks

Biffy Clyro have been confirmed as the opening act for this year's Ibiza Rocks bash on June 8, probably the heaviest act to play the gig series.The Scottish rockers kick off the season at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in San Antonio with Bombay Bicycle Club. Also announced as part of this year's line up are Maximo Park, headlining on July 13 -- their first appearance on the island for five years.
Drum and bass outfit Chase & Status meanwhile play their first-ever live set on the "White Isle" on August 2, supported by chart-topping UK rapper Tinie Tempah.
As previously reported by Spinner, the Prodigy are playing Ibiza Rocks' fifth birthday party on July 20, followed by Dizzee Rascal on July 27, the Kooks on August 10, Florence and the Machine on August 24, with a solo appearance from Bloc Party's Kele Okereke on August 31. There have also been further announcements about sister event Mallorca Rocks, a new venture set to launch this year. The Courteeners, already confirmed to play Ibiza on June 22, will play Magaluf on July 19. And Bombay Bicycle Club, the NME Award's best new band for 2010, are set to support the Kooks at the Mallorca opening party on June 6.
