Gold Motel, 'We're on the Run' -- Video Premiere

When Gold Motel's Greta Morgan wrote 'We're on the Run,' she wasn't talking about a band, per se (Paul McCartney already has that one covered). She was actually imagining outlaw lovers -- from cowboys to mobsters -- having just watched movies like 'Badlands' and 'Bonnie and Clyde.'

"I wanted the song to capture the romance and excitement of those cross-country, 'escaping just in the nick of time' adventures," Morgan tells Spinner. The accompanying video, however, was shot during the band's recent West Coast tour, a mad-dash adventure that saw them whipping around like, yeah, a band on the run.

"It seemed that a travelogue music video of Gold Motel's very first tour would stay true to the song's original instinct," says Morgan. "Though we're not robbing banks and murdering people like Bonnie and Clyde, our video still presents a level of excitement, spontaneity and adventure that created the song in the first place."
