Trent Reznor and Wife Team Up for New Project?
- Posted on Apr 28th 2010 2:00PM by Mike Ayers
According to rampant Web speculation, Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor released a short, cryptic video to unveil his new project, How to Destroy Angels. The band, should it exist, will be a collaboration with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, former lead singer of West Indian Girl. Little information is known about the project, except we can say for sure that a six-song EP from the group will surface this summer. As it's been heavily rumored that Reznor has been working on new Nine Inch Nails material, this new act is something of a surprise. By watching the 40-second promotional video you can decipher a few more things about the project: knobs were used in the recording and a dark nail polish was used in turning said knobs, which would lead one to believe that manicures may or may not have happened in recording this EP. The music played while the knobs are turned sounds like something we'd expect from a Reznor project: dark, industrial, swirling.
There's no word on whether or not Reznor and Maandig team up for vocal collaborations, but we think it could surely provide a nice balance to the traditional Reznor angst. And fear not, NIN fans -- a re-release of the group's landmark album, 'Pretty Hate Machine,' is supposedly in the works. In the meantime, this is the last week of Nine Inch Nails' virtual garage sale on eBay.

Hi, I like this site, but I don't know about Trent's new band. I'm a little wary about this sort of thing. I told some other people and they seem to agree. I just kind of get this little voice in the back of my head that says, over and over,"Wings...Plastic Ono Band...Linda...Yoko...Uh-Oh." Seeing as how this chick was a singer in a local band out in L.A., maybe she can carry a tune, at least, I don't know. Maybe it's a good idea or a bad idea or an embarassing idea...time will tell, I suppose. I hope I don't piss off your other readers. It's just my opinion.

I'm a huge NIN fan and like you I'm a little skeptical too...She does look like she could be freaky, though I don't see a womans voice fitting in with what I love about NIN, unless its screaming! I hope it works out for them, and I am just a little bit excited about a new NIN project!
