Jam Cruise 9 to Set Sail With Members of Grateful Dead, Reunited God St. Wine

On Monday, Cloud 9 Adventures unveiled the itinerary -- including dates, lineup and port stops -- for the ninth incarnation of its flagship event, Jam Cruise. Billed as a "musical adventure at sea," Jam Cruise has become something of a grand prize for jam bands and their fans over the years and the annual cruise easily ranks among the world's best destination festivals. Jam Cruise 9 will depart from Fort Lauderdale on January 4, 2011 for a five-day journey that will include port stops in Roatan, Honduras and Costa Maya, Mexico. With two full days on the high seas and music around the clock, the ship will surely be rocking at all times -- this year's lineup features a recently reunited God Street Wine (pictured) along with two projects from surviving members of the Grateful Dead -- Bob Weir, Rob Wasserman & Jay Lane are Scaring the Children and the Rhythm Devils feat. Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart.
Other bands on deck for Jam Cruise 9 include returning favorites Galactic, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, the Greyboy Allstars and Lotus. Additionally, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, ALO and Widespread Panic side-project Stockholm Syndrome will be on board, along with many others. Check out the official website for a full list and additional information about the journey itself.
Jam Cruise sells out in advance every year and most people who make it on the ship pre-book for the following year while still on board. After all, there's no bigger comedown than disembarkment.
