Stereophonics Frontman Gets Hit by Flying Flip-Flop in Singapore
- Posted on May 3rd 2010 12:00PM by John D. Luerssen
Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones didn't take kindly when a fan threw a flip-flop toward the stage Friday night during the band's Singapore gig. According to Wales Online, the Welsh-reared rock outfit was midway through an outdoor gig in front of thousands at Fort Canning Park when Jones took a shoe to the face. The sandal struck Jones during the group's hit 'Local Boy in the Photograph.' He stopped the song, picked up the flip-flop, threw it to the side and then abruptly thanked the audience before storming offstage, with his bandmates following suit.
Stereophonics and the crowd had all been in high spirits according to attendee Christopher Toh, who told the Wales news site, "The band were ploughing through songs from their latest album, as well as favorites from their past catalog -- and the crowd was clearly loving it. You've got to wonder what went through the mind of that idiot."
The crowd waited to see if the band would return to the stage, which they did after about an impromptu 10-minute intermission that allowed Jones to cool down. Apparently he took the advice of the band's latest album title, 2009's 'Keep Calm and Carry On'.

Yeah, I know all that. My point is , as you said, it depends on the situation. How can you 'say the band plough through'?
Yes, the pronouns match but in this situation it should be singular.
Would you say 'listen honey, the band are playing our song'?
Oh hell, maybe I are wrong.
P.S. By the way, how many points did you give them and how do they collect?
Anyone seen my flip-flop?

In this situation , the singer should have done the same. Its to bad that the idiots writing responses here dont really know anything about music. If any of you even actually like music you would have known who the band was. Nothing but a bunch of posers here
