The sandal struck Jones during the group's hit 'Local Boy in the Photograph.' He stopped the song, picked up the flip-flop, threw it to the side and then abruptly thanked the audience before storming offstage, with his bandmates following suit.
Stereophonics and the crowd had all been in high spirits according to attendee Christopher Toh, who told the Wales news site, "The band were ploughing through songs from their latest album, as well as favorites from their past catalog -- and the crowd was clearly loving it. You've got to wonder what went through the mind of that idiot."
The crowd waited to see if the band would return to the stage, which they did after about an impromptu 10-minute intermission that allowed Jones to cool down. Apparently he took the advice of the band's latest album title, 2009's 'Keep Calm and Carry On'.
