The Flaming Lips have shuffled a series of Florida dates they recently canceled when Steven Drozd was hospitalized last week. The band's gigs in St. Petersburg, Lake Buena Vista and St. Augustine have been shifted to October 13, 14 and 15, respectively, according to the band's website. The Oklahoma-based band's canceled festival appearances at SunFest in West Palm Beach on April 29, last Saturday's Memphis in May event and a May 15 show at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Ala. cannot be rescheduled.Drozd, who is a reformed drug user, caused fans to worry last Thursday after he cryptically tweeted, "Thank you, everyone, for your concern. I had to do this and I'm getting it together." In subsequent posts on Friday, Drozd wrote of his enthusiasm for the ongoing NBA Playoffs.
The Flaming Lips' next slated shows are set for next month. The band rocks the Tinsley Park/Free Press Fest in Houston on June 6 and also touches down at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. on June 11.
