Florence and the Machine are leading the charge at this year's Mojo Honours list after nabbing four nominations .Flame-haired singer Florence Welch has found herself nominated for Best Album with 'Lungs,' Song of the Year for her cover of Candi Staton's 'You've Got the Love,' Breakthrough Act and Best Live Act.
Not far behind her are Leicester rockers Kasabian who've picked up three nominations in the Best Album ('West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum'), Best Live Act and Song of the Year for 'Fire' in the awards, chosen by the monthly rock magazine.
Sheffield natives Arctic Monkeys and Richard Hawley go head-to-head in the Best Song category as well as picking respective nods for Best Live Act act and Best Album ('Truelove's Gutter').
Elsewhere, turbo-charged rockers the Jim Jones Revue compete with John Grant, the Low Anthem, Mumford and Sons and Florence and the Machine in the Breakthrough Act category.
Perhaps most interestingly, Hawkwind are to be honoured with the Maverick Award. Speaking of the space rockers, Mojo's editor-in-chief Phil Alexander said in a statement, "Despite the fact that they have rarely flirted with the mainstream, their music and their attitude has inspired so many different areas of modern music."
The winners will be revealed on June 10 in London.
