Four years on since the release of their last album, 'Ta-Dah,' Scissor Sisters have revealed that their new effort, 'Night Work,' is set to feature an unusual collaboration with Sir Ian McKellen.Flamboyant frontman Jake Shears told the BBC how the British actor and 'Lord of the Rings' star ended up contributing a spoken word part to the album's closing track, 'Invisible Light.'
Shears said, "Somebody in the studio said: 'We need a very deep British man's voice here.' And I instantly thought of Ian. He's a fan and has come to lots of shows. I've hung out with him quite a bit."
He added, "He was fully keen to do it so we took a bunch of recording equipment to his dressing room. He was in 'Waiting for Godot.' We had a really long poem that we'd written. I think he got a kick out of it."
'Night Work' is scheduled for release on June 28 and will be preceded by the single 'Fire With Fire' on June 20. The extravagant disco dollies have also been confirmed for this year's Glastonbury Festival. They'll play the bash on June 26.
