In an interview on ITV's 'This Morning' show on May 13, the star said, "I just feel like I'm at a point in my life where I need to be at home more, and not travelling the world and jumping up and down on stages ... I'm just a bit fed up of 'Lily Allen,' the character that I've played for the past five years."
But while her solo output may have stopped, Allen hinted she was involved in a secret musical project. "I'm still working in music, I'm still writing music, maybe, for other people, and I'm involved with trying to do a musical at the moment, that's really exciting," she said.
Allen announced in September 2009 that she has "no plans" to record a follow-up to her second chart-topping album, 'It's Not Me It's You.'
Since then, Allen has been busy lending her support to Sky's Rainforest Rescue, a three-year project working in partnership with World Wildlife Fund to help save a billion trees in the state of Acre, in northwest Brazil. Her visit out to the Amazon on a fact-finding mission earlier this month was filmed for a documentary to be screened by the channel later this year.
As previously reported by Spinner, 'The Fear' singer will also be the subject of a reality TV show about her new career in fashion as she opens a vintage clothes shop.
However, the star still has three more live obligations to fulfill -- Sweden's Peace and Love festival on July 2, with Jay-Z at Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park on July 4 and Benicassim in Spain on July 18.
