Lily Allen has revealed she's putting her solo musical career on ice because she's weary of embodying her public persona. In an interview on ITV's 'This Morning' show on May 13, the star said, "I just feel like I'm at a point in my life where I need to be at home more, and not travelling the world and jumping up and down on stages ... I'm just a bit fed up of 'Lily Allen,' the character that I've played for the past five years."
But while her solo output may have stopped, Allen hinted she was involved in a secret musical project. "I'm still working in music, I'm still writing music, maybe, for other people, and I'm involved with trying to do a musical at the moment, that's really exciting," she said.
Allen announced in September 2009 that she has "no plans" to record a follow-up to her second chart-topping album, 'It's Not Me It's You.'
Since then, Allen has been busy lending her support to Sky's Rainforest Rescue, a three-year project working in partnership with World Wildlife Fund to help save a billion trees in the state of Acre, in northwest Brazil. Her visit out to the Amazon on a fact-finding mission earlier this month was filmed for a documentary to be screened by the channel later this year.
As previously reported by Spinner, 'The Fear' singer will also be the subject of a reality TV show about her new career in fashion as she opens a vintage clothes shop.
However, the star still has three more live obligations to fulfill -- Sweden's Peace and Love festival on July 2, with Jay-Z at Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park on July 4 and Benicassim in Spain on July 18.
