Eels Prep New Album, Tour for Summer

Eels, led by fearless one-man leader E (aka Mark Oliver Everett), will continue their prolific hot streak by prepping a new album for release on Aug. 24. Titled 'Tomorrow Morning,' this is the third Eels album in the last two years, marking a typically manic songwriting and recording period for E and capping a trilogy of records that started with 2009's 'Hombre Lobo' and had its 'Empire Strikes Back' moment with 'End Times' earlier this year. The 14-track 'Tomorrow Morning' will be released on E Works Records, E's personal imprint, and followed by a world tour that will find the notably sad-sack songwriter bearing his soul to fans in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
The record is the ninth Eels full-length effort in a long and storied career that began with the initial peak of '90s alt-rock staple 'Novocaine for the Soul' and most-depressing-album-ever candidate 'Electro-Shock Blues.' Over the years, E has also kept himself busy by translating his considerable pop composition chops to big-ticket movies such as 'Shrek the Third' and 'Yes Man.' E's live performances are held in very high regard by fans and this will be the first time he's hit the road since 'Hombre Lobo' came out. Check the full dates here.
