Aging punk rockers Limp Bizkit have canceled their entire forthcoming US tour because they aren't happy with the venues they had been booked to play, deeming them inappropriate because fans would mostly be sitting down. The tour was scheduled to begin on July 2 in New Jersey, but frontman Fred Durst revealed the cancellation on Twitter.
"Basically, Limp is not an amphitheatre band," he wrote. "We like to see less seats in front of the stage and more floor filled w [sic] fans going bananas. It's just more fun for all of us that way. Some bands are meant to be seen mainly sitting down, but definitely not Limp Bizkit."
He added, "We want to give you the best experience possible so we will reroute to the venues we feel will work the best. High energy, good times. We want you to have the best."
The band played the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio at the weekend, while they remain on course to play at the Reading and Leeds festivals on August 27-29.
An announcement on the Limp Bizkit official website stated new US dates will be scheduled soon.
